What is thought blocking occurring in schizophrenia?

Psychiatrist Dr Sarthak explains thought blocking as a sudden, unexplained halt in the flow of thinking, where a person abruptly stops mid-sentence and cannot recall what they were saying. Seen in schizophrenia and severe anxiety, it reflects a deeper disruption of thought processes. Unlike ordinary forgetfulness, it feels intrusive and scary, as if the mind momentarily goes blank without reason.
