WhatsApp is introducing paid subscriptions for Channels and ads in Status updates. Channel creators can now charge followers for exclusive content, while Meta plans targeted ads using limited user data. Regular chats remain free, private, and end-to-end encrypted. The new features will appear only in the Updates tab, leaving personal messaging unaffected.
