At I/O 2026, Google announced it is upgrading Search with Gemini 3.5 Flash, its newest Flash model, as the new default model in AI Mode. Google also said the Search box, available in Google Search, will now be powered by Gemini 3.5 Flash. It introduced information agents, Antigravity and the agentic coding capabilities of Gemini 3.5 Flash in Search.
