Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned 'Ahimsa Silk' (peace silk) in 123rd episode of Mann ki Baat on Sunday. It's called 'Ahimsa Silk' as silkworms producing the silk are not killed during the process. Instead, this silk is made from cocoons after the silkworm naturally leaves them as a moth. It's real name is 'Eri Silk' and is reared in Meghalaya.
