India's new BrahMos production unit was inaugurated in Lucknow. The state-of-the-art facility is spread over 200 acres. It can manufacture 80-100 BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles annually, which will later be scaled up to produce 100 to 150 next-generation variants. The missiles will have a range of up to 400 km and can reach speed of Mach 2.8 (approximately 3,430 kmph).
