Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (AFLD) is caused by excessive alcohol consumption, while Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) occurs in individuals who are overweight/obese, Narayana Health reported. AFLD can lead to more severe liver damage, like cirrhosis, while NAFLD can progress to fibrosis. AFLD requires cessation of alcohol consumption for improvement. NAFLD focuses on lifestyle changes.
