What started the wildfires across Los Angeles?

Santa Ana winds, a major factor behind some of the worst wildfires in Los Angeles, are dry, warm, and gusty winds blowing from desert interior of Southern California. As it moves through mountain passes and canyons, the air becomes drier and warmer. It dries out vegetation, causing humidity to drop to single digits. This makes plants highly susceptible to ignition.
