The blaze at North Goa's Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub occurred due to a suspected cylinder blast, leading to deaths of at least 25 people. Goa CM Pramod Sawant said the club was operating without complying with safety norms. "The fire started on club's ground floor, leaving those in the basement trapped...and led to their death by suffocation," added Sawant.
