What was the scale of Maharashtra FDA's festive crackdown between Sept 1 & 23?

Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe-led Maharashtra FDA inspected 3,068 food establishments and collected 2,423 samples during its festive food-safety drive between September 1 and 23. It cancelled 12 licences, suspended 248 others and issued 1,506 improvement notices for deficiencies. The FDA also seized about 6.34 lakh kg of suspected adulterated or unsafe food stock worth around ₹9.76 crore.
