The NICU of a hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi, where a fire due to a short circuit killed 10 newborn babies, was allegedly using fire extinguishers which expired two years ago. As per reports, the hospital's safety alarms were dysfunctional and evacuation process was delayed due to ongoing construction around the NICU. The hospital also allegedly lacked adequate emergency exits.
