In 1917, Mahatma Gandhi launched Champaran Satyagraha, his first major act of civil disobedience, supporting indigo farmers forced by the British to grow and sell indigo at unfairly low prices. In 1918, he led the Kheda Satyagraha and Ahmedabad mill strike. His Non-Cooperation Movement ran from 1920-1922, urging Indians to boycott British goods, followed by Civil Disobedience Movement (1930-1934).
