Over-speeding was the reason behind 3,33,323 accidents and 1,19,904 fatalities last year, according to a report by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Drunken driving/consumption of alcohol & drug led to 10,080 accidents, while driving on wrong side/Lane indiscipline was the reason for 22,586 accidents. Use of mobile phone was the reason behind 7,558 accidents, according to the report.
