Indian Railways is exploring a WhatsApp-based chat ticketing system to enhance convenience under the Digital India initiative. With 25% of tickets currently booked digitally, this move aims to simplify travel further. Inspired by metro systems where 67% of fares are booked via chat, the system will allow QR code scanning and booking via messages.
