WhatsApp has registered a new domain 'www.wa.me' which lets users open the chat window of a particular contact without visiting the app. Users can type the URL 'https://wa.me/(contact phone number)' in their browser which is available on Android version 2.18.138. However, if the phone number entered by the user is invalid, WhatsApp will send a notification for the same.
