Days after popular instant messaging app WhatsApp launched its internet-based voice calling feature, UAE telecom operator has reportedly blocked the VoIP functionality. Clarifying the rules surrounding the offering and usage of VoIP services, the country's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority said, "Companies wishing to offer such services must co-ordinate with the licensed telecom providers."
