The US Department of Defense has developed a Reconfigurable Wheel-Track technology that converts wheels from tank-like tracks to tyres and vice versa without the need to stop the vehicle. The transforming wheels have applications in armoured vehicles, search and rescue operations, construction, and traversing on difficult landscapes. The technology is currently only for US military use.
