When does the govt plan to mandate tech that lets cars talk to each other?
Road Transport Ministry issued a draft timeline for implementation of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication systems, which allow cars to 'talk' to each other. Vehicles made after October 1, 2027 will have to comply with AIS-230 standards if they have V2V communication systems installed. Vehicles made after October 1, 2028 will mandatorily have to feature factory-fitted V2V communication systems.
