When should a person drink a protein shake, before or after a workout?

US-based dietitian Kate Patton said that protein shakes should be consumed after a workout. She said, "Your body is going to utilise more of that protein...It gets into...body to...help you refuel." She added that even people trying to lose weight should take it after workout, since the body uses the protein efficiently to preserve muscle and burn body fat.
