Where does the government get its money from and where does it spend it?
The government gets 28% of its money from borrowing and other liabilities, while 19% comes from Income Tax. Further, 18% of the money comes from GST and other taxes, and 5% from Union Excise Duties. The government spends 20% of its money on interest payments and 20% of its money on states' share of taxes and duties.
