According to a list released after the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards were announced, the dirtiest city having a population of over 10 lakh is Madurai. Ludhiana is the second dirtiest city in this category, followed by Chennai and Ranchi. The dirtiest city in the 3-10 lakh population category is Mathura Cantt. It is followed by Erode, Kollam, Tumkur and Salem.
