UP's Banda recorded India's highest temperature at 48°C on May 20. MP's Khajuraho was the second-hottest place at 47.4°C, while Maharashtra’s Wardha recorded the third highest temperature at 47.1°C. Rohtak (Haryana), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Nowgong (MP), Sriganganagar (Rajasthan), Amravati (Maharashtra), Chandrapur (Maharashtra) and Hamirpur (UP) recorded temperatures of 46.2°C and above.
