African nation Cape Verde, with a population of around 5.24 lakh, became the second-smallest country ever to qualify for FIFA World Cup. Iceland had population of 3.5 lakh when it qualified for FIFA World Cup 2018. Paraguay (9.92 lakh), Trinidad and Tobago (13 lakh) and Northern Ireland (14 lakh) are the third, fourth and fifth smallest nations to have qualified.
