Mumbai is the most expensive city to live in India as it ranked 136th in a list of over 200 cities, as per Mercer's 2024 cost-of-living data. It is followed by Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Kolkata. The list compared the cost of over 200 items in each location such as transportation, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment.
