International Institute for Management Development's World Competitiveness Index ranked India at 40th position while Denmark, Ireland, Switzerland, Singapore and Netherlands were on top. The index analyses and ranks nations based on how they manage competencies to achieve long-term value creation. IMD stated India improved in government efficiency but fared slightly poorer in business efficiency.
