Jammu, Indore and Mumbai are currently the only three cities to house the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) as well as the Indian Institute of Management (IIM). In 2023, The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) became IIM Mumbai. Now, an IIM has been approved near Assam's Guwahati, making it among the few cities to house both IIT and IIM.
