Several Muslim-majority nations like Turkey, Iran, and Iraq have done away with triple talaq. While the Indian government recently told the Supreme Court that triple talaq is not essential to Islam, Indonesia, which has the world's highest Muslim population, has already banned the instant divorce practice. India's neighbours Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka have also outlawed triple talaq.
