With 4.79 million millionaires, the United States had the highest number of millionaires in 2016, according to consultancy firm Capgemini's World Wealth Report. The US is followed by Japan (2.89 million), Germany (1.38 million), and China (1.13 million). Further, the number of millionaires in the world rose nearly 8% in 2016 to an all-time high of around 16.5 million.
