Which Covid-19 subvariants have been detected in India?
The recent spike in COVID-19 cases in India is linked to Omicron subvariants JN.1, NB.1.8.1, and LF.7. JN.1 accounts for over 50% of new infections. While a few cases of NB.1.8.1 and LF.7 have been reported, the WHO is monitoring them, though they're not classified as variants of concern yet.
