Recurring deposits (RDs) and fixed deposits (FDs) offer fixed returns and are considered low-risk but they have different purposes. RDs are suitable for those who have a steady monthly income as they allow fixed monthly investments till completion of a term. FDs require a lump-sum investment and can generate more interest because the full amount earns interest from the beginning.
