India is facing a potential oil crisis after Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz and has the key alternative of falling back on sanctioned Russian oil to ensure a consistent supply. India can also source oil from the Americas and West Africa, which can be imported via Cape of Good Hope. India can also use bypass routes within the Gulf.
