BJP had emerged as the single largest party in UP in the 2019 general elections by winning 62 out of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Meanwhile, BSP and SP won 10 and 5 seats respectively and Congress got victory in just one seat. In 2014, BJP won 71 seats, SP won five and Congress won two seats.
