As per the latest All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) report 2021-22, Karnataka has the highest number of foreign students in India at 6,004. The other states include Punjab (5,971), Maharashtra (4,856), UP (4,323), Tamil Nadu (3,891) and Gujarat (3,593). Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu have no foreign students, as per data.
