The Sample Registration System statistical report 2023 published this month stated that among the bigger states/UTs, Tamil Nadu with 51.8% have the highest total married population. This is followed by Himachal Pradesh (51.5%), Andhra Pradesh (51.2%) and Kerala (50.9%). Bihar (40.2%), Jammu & Kashmir (40.4%) and Uttar Pradesh (41.6%) have the lowest total married population in the country.
