NITI Aayog's report on Multidimensional Poverty in India released extrapolated data for 2022-23 that showed Bihar having the highest percentage of multidimensionally poor population at 26.59%. This is followed by Meghalaya (25.46%), Jharkhand (23.34%) and UP (17.4%). Goa (0.37%), Kerala (0.48%), Tamil Nadu (1.43%) and Sikkim (2.1%) had lowest percentage of multidimensionally poor population.
