With 2,138 cases, UP reported the maximum dowry deaths in 2022, followed by 1,057 in Bihar. Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and West Bengal reported 518, 451 and 406 dowry deaths respectively. Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Goa, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Ladakh saw no dowry deaths. Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Puducherry reported one death each.
