JSW Steel rose 1%, the only stock to end in green on 30-share Sensex on Thursday as the index shed 1,769 points to close at 82,497. L&T, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Reliance Industries, Maruti and Asian Paints were among the top losers, shedding nearly 4% each. JSW Steel was also the biggest NSE gainer, while BPCL(-5%) was the biggest loser.
