All senior citizens aged over 70 years are eligible for health insurance cover up to ₹5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme, that was launched for low-income families. Seniors whose families already availed the scheme get additional coverage. It also applies to seniors with private health insurance. However, those covered under other public health schemes won't get Ayushman Bharat coverage.
