Suryavanshi Thakurs of Ayodhya claim to be Lord Ram's descendants. They will on January 22 end the 500-year-old pledge taken by their ancestors of not wearing turbans, leather shoes or use umbrellas until Ram Mandir was reconstructed at the disputed site. As per rural folklore, 90,000 Suryavanshi Thakurs had attacked the Mughals to save the Ram temple.
