PM Narendra Modi expanded his Cabinet today, inducting nine new ministers and promoting four. Former MoS Nirmala Sitharaman became the Defence Minister, only the second woman after Indira Gandhi to hold the post. Piyush Goyal got Railways and Coal, while former Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu got Commerce and Industry. Further, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj retained her portfolio.
