France's Just Fontaine holds the record for scoring the most goals in a single FIFA World Cup edition. He netted 13 goals in six matches at the FIFA World Cup 1958 in Sweden. Hungary's Sándor Kocsis follows Fontaine with 11 goals in the 1954 edition. Germany's Gerd Müller scored 10 goals in the 1970 edition.
