PM Narendra Modi touched 98-year-old BJP worker Makhanlal Sarkar's feet during swearing-in ceremony of Suvendu Adhikari in West Bengal. Sarkar was first BJP district president of Siliguri organisational district and Shyama Prasad Mookerjee's companion on his Kashmir tour. In 1952, he was arrested during the movement. From 1981 onward, he served continuously for 7 years as district president.
