The newly appointed head of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Anil Dhasmana, is a Madhya Pradesh cadre IPS officer who joined the external intelligence agency in1993. The 1981-batch officer, who will serve a two-year term, had worked extensively with the agency's Pakistan desk. His areas of expertise are considered to be Balochistan, counter-terrorism and Islamic affairs.
