Professor Arnold Dix is globally recognised as one of the leading experts in tunnel safety and disaster investigations. He is the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association President. In the US, Arnold is recognised as a subject matter expert in fire-related matters. In 2011, he received the Allen Neyland Australian Tunnelling Society bi-annual award for excellence in tunnelling.
