Elon Musk praised Tesla's AI/Autopilot software lead Ashok Elluswamy by saying Tesla "would just be another car company" without him. Ashok did his BE from College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai and MSc from Carnegie Mellon University. He was the first person recruited from Musk's tweet saying that Tesla is starting an Autopilot team. He's been at Tesla for 10+ years.
