Indian boxer Jadumani Singh Mandengbam, who defeated Pakistan's Sumama Rehman in the men's 55kg round of 16 at the Commonwealth Games 2026, hails from Manipur's Imphal. The 22-year-old initially dreamt of becoming a footballer before his uncle introduced him to boxing. Jadumani, who had won the national title in the 55kg category, claimed silver at the World Boxing Cup Finals.
