Hajime Moriyasu is the head coach of Japan's national football team at the FIFA World Cup 2026 hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. A former midfielder, he played for Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Kyoto Sanga FC, and Vegalta Sendai, and represented Japan from 1992 to 1996. After retirement, he became a successful coach and led Japan to major international tournaments.
