Lawrence Wong, who was sworn in as Singapore's PM on Wednesday as Lee Hsien Loong stepped down after two decades, had formerly served as the island state's deputy PM. Wong hails from People's Action Party and he is the first Singaporean premier born after its independence in 1965. Prior to entering politics, Wong was a civil servant for 14 years.
