Polish-French physicist and chemist Marie Skłodowska Curie, best known for her pioneering studies of radioactivity, remains the only individual with two Nobel Prizes in two different scientific categories. She was awarded the Nobel Prize in physics in 1903 and another Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1911. She is also the first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize.
