Lalit Modi named his son Ruchir Modi as the successor beneficiary from his family's side in KK Modi Family Trust. The 28-year-old has a bachelor's degree in global business management from Regent's University London. He's the director of cigarette-maker Godfrey Phillips India, other family-controlled firms such as KK Modi Group and Modi Enterprises. He's also the Founder-CEO of Modi Ventures.
