China’s Shaolin Temple abbot Shi Yongxin, who joined in 1981 and became abbot in 1999, is under investigation for misappropriation and embezzlement of project funds. Known as a "CEO monk", Shi leads the 1,500-year-old temple in Henan province, which draws thousands of disciples annually from around the world.
